There are so many great kiteboarding and kitesurfing locations in the Minnesota and Wisconsin area that we couldn’t fit all of them in a drop down menu! Please look on the bottom part of these pages for more kiteboarding and kitesurfing locations in the area. In our opinion these are the best, most popular spots to ride in the MN and WI area. Obliviously with 10,000+ lakes in just Minnesota we don’t have every spot on here, but we will continually add new locations! If you have a local spot you like to ride, let us know and we will add it to our locations database. At Superior Kiteboarding School we feel that knowledge is power, to protect the kiteboarding launches it is important to convey whether cretin spots are suitable for beginner kiters, and would love your input the conditions and challenges you face on your home turf.

There are many locations on these pages that aren’t suitable for beginners, please read the sections and heed the warnings. We aren't trying to ruin your fun; we just want to keep you and the other lake users safe! There are only 3 locations in the area that are suitable for beginner kiteboarders and kiteboarding lessons. These locations are the best kiteboarding and kitesurfing locations because they offer big shallow sandbars, butter smooth wind, and limited amounts of beach goers. The beginner kiteboarding locations are Lake Mille Lacs, Lake Winnibigoshish, and the Chequamegon Bay.
